BioKaoru grew up with his French mother and Japanese American businessman father. As a child he studied at all the best boarding schools. There were high hopes for him to run his father's company when he came of age, but he really had no interest in such things.
When he was 15 he became very ill and his father hired a nurse to tend to him in their home. Kaoru was instantly attached to the man, and couldn't help but fall in love with him and his kindness. He cared for him every day, but after several months Kaoru got better and came to the sad realization that he'd never see his beloved savior ever again. He decided at that moment that he would follow the kind man's path in hopes that one day he'd meet him again and that he'd be able to repay his kindness with love.
He'd heard a rumor from his father that his beloved had begun working at a prison in America, so got a job there in hopes of following him.
